Video consultations
We have also been doing video consults in order to try and minimise the need for a visit if possible. This has been working really well as long as you have 4g and 2 or more bars of mobile reception (or wi-fi). It enables us to direct you with your mobile to what we want to see real time, so it is more valuable to us than looking at photos or videos that you might take and send in. We are making a small charge but this is less than a normal examination fee and there is no visit fee! If we then have to come and see your horse we will not charge for the video consultation.
In general:
When requesting an emergency visit it is helpful if you provide the following details:-
The owner’s name, exact location of the horse, brief details of the emergency, full contact details
If possible please keep your telephone contact line free until the vet has contacted you.
